Meet the Energise Me Board

Friday, February 8, 2019

The Energise Me Board brings together some of the best and brightest minds in East Anglia.

Based in Norwich, their backgrounds range from accountancy to graphic design and software development.

To help you put names to faces, they explain their roles and top tips for staying energised...

Ian Hacon

Chief Energy Officer

What that involves: Steering the ship and keeping everyone energised on the journey. I'm also cook and chief bottle washer!

What's your background? I started off as an accountant, but became a CEO - and people told me I was pretty good at that!

I then went on a wellbeing journey. From there became an Ironman and a coach. That was when I realised that helping people get more energy was so important for their success and happiness.

What's your biggest strength? Well, according to my strength-finder profile. Officially though, it's personal development and growth!

What's your top tip for staying energised? Be obsessive about getting 8 hours' good sleep a night.

John Burroughes

Chairman

What does that involve? It involves talking a lot! Oh, sorry, not really! What I do is make sure the board of directors makes the best strategic decisions it can!

What's your background? My background is as a venture coach. It makes me really suitable because I find it easy to influence people I am friends with.

What's your biggest strength? My biggest strength by far is courage.

What's your top tip for staying energised? To be energised you have to want to do things for more than just yourself. For instance, you may want to focus on being a better dad, husband, or even chairman!

Will Stephens

Chief Financial Officer

What does that involve? I look after the numbers!

What's your background? I'm a qualified accountant, experienced CFO and COO for multiple SMEs. I'm also a round-the-world yachtsman!

What's your biggest strength? Knowing my weaknesses and when to seek advice from others.

What's your top tip for staying energised? Keep moving - physically, professionally and emotionally.

Lee Scarfe

Chief Marketing Officer

What does that involve? In a nutshell, making sure that as many people as possible know about Energise Me!

What's your background? I'm the MD at The Creative Armoury, a graphic design and animation studio in Norwich.

What's your biggest strength? My positivity. People often comment that I can see the positives in most situations.

What's your top tip for staying energised? Take small, achievable steps towards your goals. If you take on too much at once, you may feel overwhelmed.

Lynn Spachuk

Chief Curator and Experience Officer

What does that involve? Staying curious. Finding, filtering and joining the dots of relevant content to guide the learning experience so our tribe can maximise their energy after trekking through our program.

What's your background? I'm an educator, experienced learning manager, facilitator, holistic energy practitioner, and end-of-life celebrant.

What's your biggest strength? Breaking down complex concepts into digestible skills and knowledge, in order for people to become the best version of themselves.

What's your top tip for staying energised? Be a lifelong learner. Keep your mind, body, and spirit engaged - at any age - by actively pursuing knowledge and experiences. Change your habits often!
